“Twilight” by Mitsuhisa Nakajima

£50.00

Akashino “Twilight” is from Akatsu clan in Sanage Mountain Range.  Originated with Shirozaemon Kato, it has splendid 700 years plus history.

Particularly high in reputation for Shino style as well as Oribe, this “Twilight” was made by Mitsuhisa Nakajima of Shunso in East Kiln in Akatsu clan.  Mitsuhisa is “Akatsu Dentokogeishi” (Akatsu Clan’s Master of Traditional Craft) who has received many famous awards in Aichi Prefecture.

I enjoy the simplicity of this Akashino, with slight, gentle pink with fading ear of rice drawn as a motif, it is a perfect take of delicate twilight moment.  It is so traditional, slightly feminine, and gentle.  “Twilight”is sentimentally Japanese, and comfortable to hold, together with very particular texture to touch – slightly coase unevenness on surface of this guinomi gives you extra confidence to hold it and enjoy beautiful Japanese Sake.

It comes in the wooden box with “Guinomi Shunso” written on the lid.
