WSET Sake Level 1 Pilot Course at London WSET

May 2, 2016 Education

On the 23rd of March, Honami Matsumoto of House of Sake has lectured at WSET Sake Level 1 Pilot course at London WSET school as a lecturer.

Honami was certified to be Wine Level 1 & 2, Sake Level 1 & 3 Educator (for WSET as APP) by WSET in July 2015 through London WSET Educator program.

WSET has successfully launched Sake Level 3 in 2014, and Sake Level 1 is the next step in 2016.

Through its theory and tasting, important insights will be gained on how sake differs from any other alcoholic beverages in the world.

It covers all the basics on sake ingredients, sake making process, label reading, sake tasting technique, sake and food matching.  It has been designed for the sake beginners.

Its tasting technique is from calibrating your palate to specifically taste sake to appreciate different style of sake – which are very crucial first step for anyone who would like to become a sake expert.

This is a one-day course with a multiple-choice examination at the end of the course, which is more accessible for professionals working with a busy schedule every day.

On the day of the first pilot course in London WSET School, a big thank you to 7 students who participated in this and they all enjoyed learning or refreshing their sake knowledge.  A second WSET Sake Level 1 Pilot Course is scheduled for the 7th and 8th of May 2016 in Switzerland.

WSET sake level 1 is a stimulating course that, after completing it, you would most likely to continue completing Sake Level 3 as a natural advancement in your sake knowledge and expertise!
